He is there and He is not silent

So for anyone who has read Francis Schaeffer they will have realized that my title for this blog is from one of his books. I'm currently reading this book "He is there and He is not silent."
I've read Schaeffer before and usually enjoy his writings but this book has stuck out more then usual. For the first time, I really understand this concept that God is there and He is not silent that Schaeffer employs.
Here is a quote from the book,
"I find that many people who are evangelical and orthodox want truth just to be true to the dogmas, or to be true to what the Bible says. Nobody stands more for the full inspiration of Scripture than I, but this is not the end of truth as Christianity is presented, as the Bible presents itself. The truth of Christianity is that it is true to what is there. You can go to the end of the world and you never need be afraid, like the ancients, that you will fall off the end and the dragons will eat you up. You can carry out your intellectual discussion to the end of the game, because Christianity is not only true to the dogmas, it is not only true to what God has said in the Bible, but it is also true to what is there, and you will never fall off the end of the world! It is not just an approximate model; it is really true to what is there. When the evangelical catches that-when evangelicalism catches that- we may have our revolution. We will begin to have something beautiful and alive, something which will force in our poor, lost world."
After I read this portion of the book, it hit me! I feel as if many Christians are scared to dig into the tough questions of life or the objections that our world throws at our faith. Let us throw off this reluctant & cautious faith. Our God is real and exists independent of human beings. The creator of all things has spoken to us! John 17:17 says, " Sanctify them in the truth, your word is truth." God is truth...his word is an explanation as to who he is and why things are the way they are. Philosophy and science, when done correctly, will match up with God's word because its truth...there is no other option! There is no final conflict! Oh, what a beautiful thing it is when one realizes this! The God of the Bible is not just another religion/faith...or even...to a lot of Christians...correct. Rather, our God is reality! He is truth! When we study theology we are learning more about who created us and why and how!
Let us approach our world will diligence academically knowing what we believe is reality, it won't be changed. Let us be thankful that God is not just there, but that He has spoken, and thus we can know truth! Let us do all this with humility, grace, and utter dependence on our God.
" The heavens are TELLING of the glory of God and their expanse is DECLARING the work of His hands." Psalm 19:1
"Because that which is known about God is EVIDENT within them; for God MADE IT EVIDENT to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power, and divine nature, have been CLEARLY seen, being understood through what has been made,so that they are without EXCUSE." Romans 1:19-20
" God created man in His OWN IMAGE, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them." Genesis 1:27

There is something other worldly comforting in that, ha? :)

Sorry, that was an awkward comment. What I mean is this: a spiritual comfort to be gained in knowing that God is there. Really there. Not just in my head. Not just in my theology book. Not even just written about in the pages of my Bible. But there. Next to me. Beside me. Next to you. Beside you. At the same time. Crazy!

I have been reading out of the book "He is there and he is not silent." Schaeffer states that he would be an agnostic if there were no Trinity. "Without the high order of personal unity and diversity as given in the Trinity, there are no answers." In this context he later refers to the "acute philosophic need of unity in diversity..." I don't understand this concept of unity and diversity as it applies to our human condition. Do you have insight to what Schaeffer means here?
Thanks
